Trivia and Notes/Goofs[]

  • Due to his ill health, Nicholas Colasanto does not appear in these scenes at all.
    • This is the first episode for him to not appear and the first episode where a main cast member doesn't appear.
  • Michael Richards would later go on to play Cosmo Kramer on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld (1989-1998). Richards would also go on to star with Cheers cast members Kirstie Alley and Rhea Perlman on the short-lived series Kirstie
  • This episode aired two days after the actor who played Coach, Nicholas Colasanto, sadly died from a heart attack. Two days later, over 300 people attended his funeral, including John Ratzenberger, the only cast member of Cheers to do so (as he was the only one allowed: the rest of the cast had to be on location and couldn't attend).
  • For this episode, Coach's absence is explained by Sam as going to get his Driver's License renewed in Vermont, as he heard the test was easier there.
  • Contracts made while one or more parties are intoxicated is voidable so Sam wouldn't have to pay up, if it were, since it was known he was drunk when the contract was made.
