Tim Cunningham is an actor and baseball coach.
On Cheers, he played Tim, a background barfly, although in early episodes he was credited as "Chuck", then "Greg". He was credited 37 times and appeared in every season of Cheers.
Aside from Cheers, he also guest-starred in episodes of "Alfred Hitchcock Presents", "Remington Steele", "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Party of Five". He also acted in the film "Coming Soon".
In 1995, he began coaching baseball at Notre Dame High School, in Sherman Oaks, California. He had the honor of coaching his son Matt there, a catcher who won a scholarship to Rice University. In 2000 he took the head coaching job for the varsity baseball team at Harvard-Westlake High School, an elite college-prep school in Los Angeles. He coached there for five seasons, then returned to Notre Dame HS where he coaches to this day. The team won a championship in 2008, and was ranked by ESPN as the eighth best high school team in the nation that year. Sveral major league ballplayers have come out of this school.
In 2007, Cunningham suffered a ruptured aorta, but made a full recovery after emergency surgery.
