Woodrow Huckleberry Tiberius "Woody" Boyd was a bartender at Cheers from seasons four through eleven (1985-1993), portrayed by Woody Harrelson.

Before coming to Cheers, Woody was a country boy from Hanover, Indiana. He debuts in the episode Birth, Death, Love and Rice where he expected to meet his "pen pal" Coach, with whom he exchanged pens instead of letters. However, Woody is informed by Sam Malone that Coach had recently passed away and Woody is later given the role as a Cheers bartender; stepping in for Coach's role as the "simple-minded" barkeep. He was quickly accepted by the barflies and staff alike and over the years develops a “big brother/little brother” relationship with Sam.

Late in the series, Woody meets the wealthy but equally naïve Kelly Gaines and the two get married in May 1992. At the end of the series, Woody (due to an experiment by Frasier) becomes a City Councilman. At the same time, Kelly reveals to Woody that she is pregnant with their first child. Upon visiting Frasier in Seattle in 1995, Sam reveals that Woody and Kelly's child was a baby boy.

Woody makes his only appearance on Frasier in The Show Where Woody Shows Up during a visit to Seattle. He and Frasier, while still very fond of each other and initially elated at catching up, soon find that they have moved on from their past and settled into new lives. Neither Frasier nor Boyd see the other's lives as fulfilling but are nevertheless glad the other is happy. Ultimately, the two men part company on good terms and remember the good times they had back in Boston. They share a final drink with each other, leading Woody to utter his final line: "Cheers".

Woody is mentioned once more on Frasier, in the episode Cheerful Goodbyes, when Frasier reveals that at his going-away party at Cheers before returning to Seattle, Woody grabbed onto his legs and begged him not to go. Woody’s political career goes unmentioned on Frasier as Woody tells him that he is once again tending bar at Cheers and reveals that he and Kelly have since had a daughter.
